A Boulder homeless man is under arrest after police say he used a pellet gun to shoot a man who was sunbathing along Boulder Creek near the public library late Sunday afternoon.
Police responded to a report of the pellet gun shooting around 5 p.m. Sunday, according to Boulder police spokeswoman Kim Kobel. The victim had injuries consistent with a pellet gun.
Police arrested 27-year-old Michael David Pennington. Police said he admitted to shooting the victim.
Pennington was booked into the Boulder County Jail on suspicion of municipal offenses of third-degree assault, discharging a firearm and using fireworks without a permit.
Kobel said the suspect and the victim know each other.
A police report providing more details about the incident was not available Monday.
