Arvada police are investigating whether a possible stray dog or a coyote bit a 16-year-old girl over the weekend.
The teenager was walking her heeler mix dog near West 86th Parkway and Simms Street when either a “mangy-looking dog” or a coyote approached her and bit her on the forearm, according to the Arvada Police Department.
The girl’s dog attacked the animal that bit her, causing it to release her arm and run away.
