Two Denver women arrested in the death of a 10- month-old boy made their first court appearance Saturday morning.
The Denver coroner is performing an autopsy on Adam Gonzales this weekend to determine a cause of death.
Amanda Lujan, 24, the boy’s mother, and Frances Garcia, 23, were advised of the charges against them Saturday.
Police describe Garcia as Lujan’s girlfriend.
Garcia is facing charges of murder and child abuse. Lujan is facing a charge of accessory to murder.
Adam Gonzales was declared dead Friday morning after Denver police were called to the 800 block of Tennyson Street on a report that a baby was not breathing.
Lujan was being held Saturday afternoon on $5,000 bail, and Garcia was being held without bail.
