A woman who allegedly set fire to an apartment building last week in Canon City has been diagnosed with a mental disorder, according to the Canon City Police Department.
Amber Dawn Dasugo, 24, has been charged with 22 counts of reckless endangerment and one charge of First Degree Arson. According to news reports, the fire began last Tuesday morning, at 6:56 a.m., in an apartment on the ground floor of an apartment building in the 400 block of Macon Avenue.
The Canon City Fire Department brought the fire under control within 40 minutes, according to news reports, but caused heavy smoke damage to surrounding apartments, and displaced several families.
Dasugo is being held at the Fremont County Detention Facility on a $30,000 bond.
