GOLDEN, CO, AUGUST 22, 2005- The city of Golden installed "tattletale" lights at six intersections known to have lots of traffic, crashes, and red-light runners. The lights are small, blue, and are mounted on the back side of stoplights and work in sync with traffic signals. An officer can sit far on the opposite side of the intersection and see the blue light and know when the light is red. This light puts officers in a safer position to pull over a red light runner. Pictured is the stoplight on the northwest corner of the Colo. 93 and Iowa Drive intersection; the blue "tattletale" light is situated just above the traffic light.
