WELD COUNTY — A fight in Weld County on Saturday night erupted into a melee when the sons of a 60-year-old man showed up and fought deputies and their father’s combatant, according to the Weld County Sheriff’s Office.

Larry Pino had fought with Dominque Ramirez, 46, at Ramirez’s home in Garden City just before 11 p.m.

When authorities arrived, Pino was on the ground outside the home in the 2700 block of Eighth Avenue, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

He was rushed to North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley and remained in critical condition Sunday, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

As deputies began their investigation, Pino’s three sons “show up breaking through police barriers,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Lazarus Pino, 35, allegedly punched a deputy in the face and injured the officer’s knee in a scuffle.

Absalom Pino, 30, and Juan Pino, 21, are accused of going into the home and assaulting Ramirez, who sustained a hand injury, and his mother, Maria Ramirez, 67, who received a head injury.

All three Pinos are from Hereford and were released on $40,000 bond each.

Dominque Ramirez was charged with first-degree assault and is being held without bail.
