A 30-year-old Fort Morgan man was airlifted to Northern Colorado Medical Center after he and another man driving motorcycles on Highway 76 near Wiggins hit a deer.

Andrew Barngrover and Roger Barngrover, 62, of Brighton, were westbound on Highway 76 around 11 p.m. Sunday when they hit the deer, said Trooper Nate Reid, a Colorado State Patrol spokesman.

Andrew Barngrover was on a 1993 Yamaha. Roger Barngrover’s 1986 Yamaha was pulling a trailer, Reid said.

The highway was closed briefly while a helicopter landed on the roadway to transport Andrew Barngrover. Roger Barngrover was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, Reid said.

Their conditions were not immediately available this morning.
