Denver police needed only about five minutes to catch up to an alleged bank robber this afternoon, after the man’s getaway turned out to be a cab.
His name has not been released.
The man demanded cash at the FirstBank branch inside the Safeway grocery store at 2660 Federal Blvd. at 5:42 p.m., said Detective John White.
Police pulled over the cab and arrested the man about four blocks away, at West 23rd Avenue and Eliot Street.
The man did not show a weapon and none was recovered, White said.
