CENTENNIAL, Colo.—Authorities identified six suspects and arrested one in the case of an Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputy who was injured by a dry ice bomb.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s office says 18-year-old Matthew Leibold was being held Thursday on $6,000 bail and faced charges of using an explosive device, a felony, reckless endangerment and third-degree assault, both misdemeanors.
The five other suspects are juveniles and are not named.
Sheriff’s officials say a deputy suffered minor injuries Monday night when plastic from the exploding device hit him in the face. The deputy was investigating a report of gun shots in a Centennial neighborhood. Authorities say that when he arrived at the scene he found a plastic bottle with the dry ice bomb.
