HARRISBURG, Pa. — Companies involved in employing foreign students who walked off their jobs in protest at a Pennsylvania plant that serves the Hershey Co. chocolate manufacturer are developing a plan to send the students on a trip to see some of the United States’ cultural and historical landmarks.
The nonprofit Council for Educational Travel USA helped bring the students to the U.S. Chief executive Rick Anaya said the plan emerged Friday and students would be contacted early next week.
The companies are trying to address the students’ complaints about working conditions at a distribution center outside Hershey, Pa. Some of the companies involved are based in Westerville, Ohio; Lemoyne, Pa.; and New Orleans.
