COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs police say they have returned a Tuskegee Airmen medal to a man after it was reported stolen in a home burglary.
Friday morning, an employee at the Crossland Economy Studios spotted the medal in the hotel’s lost and found, police said.
The worker called police, who picked up the medal and returned it to retired Lt. Frank Macon of Colorado Springs.
Macon was given a replacement medal in July after he reported it stolen in May.
The bronze medal was awarded to members of the famed World War II black fighter pilots group known as the Tuskegee Airmen. It depicts the pilots on one face and three aircraft on the other.
