MORRISON — A motorcyclist and a passenger on another motorcycle died Tuesday in separate but related crashes that tied up westbound Interstate 70 for hours.
Shortly before noon Tuesday, the driver of a motorcycle lost control on I-70 in Mount Vernon Canyon. His female passenger was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene.
About three minutes later, a second motorcycle, while approaching the initial crash, rear-ended a vehicle. That motorcyclist was killed.
