EADS, Colo.—U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet is on a three-day tour of southern Colorado to talk about jobs with farmers and ranchers.
Bennet begins his tour Thursday afternoon in Eads, where he will talk with tourism and economic development officials. He then heads to Lamar and the Fort Lyon Correctional Facility in Las Animas. The prison is scheduled to close in March because of budget cuts and area officials are worried about the economic impact because the facility is a big employer in the region.
Bennet will be in Rocky Ford Friday to talk with Otero County farmers and he’ll conclude his tour Saturday in Alamosa.
