A 14-year-old boy was quickly rescued Monday afternoon after he apparently slipped and fell from a rock into South Boulder Creek.
The incident happened at about noon at the Walker Ranch area near Flagstaff Road.
Boulder County Sheriff’s Sgt. Lance Enholm said the boy was playing on the rock when he fell into the water. The boy, whose name was not immediately available, sustained “bumps and scrapes” but is otherwise OK. He was not taken to the hospital, according to Enholm.
The boy’s family and bikers in the area worked to get the boy out of the water, Enholm said. A swift-water rescue team was deployed, but the team was quickly called off.
