Authorities today released the name of the teenager shot to death in the common area of an Aurora condominium complex Tuesday.

Jason Perez-Gonzalez, 15, of Denver died despite hours of emergency surgery after he was shot three times in the back at about noon at Telegraph Hill II Condominiums.

Though Overland Park High School is about a block from the complex, Gonzalez was not a student there, said Aurora police spokeswoman Cassidee Carlson.

“We’re talking with his family today to try to determine why he might have been at the apartment complex,” she said.

Eric Holloway, 23, and Tiffane Ward, 22, are facing charges in connection with the death. Ward lives at the complex, and an employee there said Tuesday that the alteraction happened at and possibly inside her unit.

Holloway and Ward were both in court today and remain in custory without bond.

Both were charged with first-degree murder after deliberation, and Ward was additionally charged with being an accessory to the killing.

They were stopped from leaving the complex at East Harvard Avenue and South Peoria Street after a witness alerted a maintenance worker who blocked in their sedan with his truck before police arrived.
