Boulder County Sheriff’s rescuers Saturday afternoon safely brought down two climbers stranded on the first Flatiron.
The climbers, Shannon Wittstock, 25, and Kyle Ritchie, 25, both of Fort Collins, called for assistance after completing their second pitch about 300 feet up the face and realizing they were beyond their experience level, according to a news release.
Before making the trip the pair had only climbed inside on a gym climbing wall, the sheriff’s office said.
No one was injured.
