CASTLE ROCK — Defense attorneys took turns blaming other co-conspirators in a Castle Rock double-homicide case while trying to convince a judge their clients weren’t culpable.
Ultimately, Judge Paul King determined there was evidence to put all four defendants on trial for murder.
His decision followed closing arguments in the preliminary hearing against Christopher Wells, 49, Josiah Sher, 27, Micah Woody, 30, and Matthew Plake, 27. They are each being held without bail.
The suspects allegedly conspired to kill Amara Wells, 39, and Michael Rafferty, 49, on Feb. 23 in Castle Rock. They also are charged with numerous other counts, including conspiring to kill Rafferty’s wife, Tamara, Christopher Wells’ sister.
