Crews have cleared four different accidents that caused major delays on westbound U.S. 36 near Sheridan Boulevard this morning.
All westbound lanes were closed at 7:10 a.m., after the two cars collided just north of the Sheridan Boulevard exit, said Trevor Materasso, a spokesman for the Westminster Police Department.
Shortly after the first accident, three cars smashed into each other, likely as a result of the first accident.
Following the second accident, two cars collided on an on-ramp and shortly after two cars collided near the scene of the first accident.
Minor injuries were reported and all nine cars had to be towed from the scene.
It took emergency crews about two hours to completely clear the accident from the roadway.
