The Air Force men’s cross country team won the Woody Greeno Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., on Saturday, led by senior Jim Walmsley’s first-place finish.

With the Falcons accounting for three top-10 finishes and five top-15 marks, the men easily won the 28-team race with 35 points. Wyoming placed second with 83 points.

• The Air Force women’s team finished second with 55 points in their race at Pioneer’s Park, behind a second-place finish from junior Melissa Fuerst. Nebraska finished first with 42 points, and Wyoming was fourth with 160.

Adams State men win.

The top-ranked Division II cross country team in the nation, Adams State, won the Colorado College Invitational in Colorado Springs. Grizzlies junior Edwin Cruz placed first.

• In the women’s race, Northern Colorado finished first behind freshman Tanelle Berard’s third-place finish and freshman Ashley Atkin, who was fourth. Adams State’s Kelly Lamb won the race.

No. 2 Stanford overpowers Colorado.

After falling to top-ranked California on Friday, the University of Colorado volleyball team lost to second-ranked Stanford in straight sets (14-25, 15-25, 15-25) on Saturday. Junior Kerra Schroeder led the Buffs with a team-high 13 kills. Denver Post staff and wire services
