POCATELLO, Idaho — Kevin Yost passed for 508 yards and four touchdowns as Idaho State defeated Northern Colorado 50-20 on Saturday.
It was the first victory over a team from above NCAA Division II for Idaho State (2-1, 1-0 Big Sky) since the final game of the 2009 season.
Derek Graves had 15 catches for 114 yards for the Bengals, and Rodrick Rumble continued his prolific play with 14 receptions for 158 yards and a TD. In three games, Rumble has 34 catches for 520 yards and five scores.
Northern Colorado (0-3, 0-1) scored touchdowns on a 10-yard pass from Seth Lobato to Patrick Walker and a 58-yard interception return by V.J. Holmes.
Yost, who was 47-for-68 with an interception, threw two TD passes to Anthony Boyles and one to Luke Austin. Boyles had nine receptions for 141 yards.
The win was the Bengals’ first in a Big Sky opener since 2005.
