A Boulder man was ticketed after the watering system he set up in his condo for his medical marijuana plants flooded his neighbor’s downstairs unit, according to police.

Michael Leago, 28, was cited Friday by Boulder police for “prohibited acts of medical marijuana.”

Police were called when the owner of a ground-floor condo in the 2800 block of Kalmia Avenue reported flooding coming from the condo above it. Police found a growing operation in the master bedroom, with three marijuana plants over 6 feet tall.

The plants were on a large rubber mat covering most of the floor. The water feed into a 55-gallon bucket had been left on, causing water to overflow onto the concrete floor, which was covered with large cracks, according to the report. Officers found 3 to 4 inches of water on the floor.
