NEW YORK — AT&T Inc. is “preparing aggressively” to fight the Justice Department’s lawsuit seeking to stop the company’s planned $39 billion acquisition of rival T-Mobile USA, chief executive Randall Stephenson said Thursday.
Stephenson told analysts at a conference in New York that AT&T executives also “remain hopeful that we can address the issues that were in the DOJ’s complaint.”
A Washington federal judge on Wednesday set a Feb. 13 trial date for the lawsuit.
