Colorado Springs police are looking for two men, after they allegedly smashed into a wooden power pole, fled from the fiery wreck and left a neighborhood without power early this morning.

At 4:02 a.m., officers were called to 300 S. Hancock Ave., on a report of an accident, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department’s blotter.

Officers learned that a white Ford pickup truck was traveling southbound on Hancock Avenue, when it smashed into and completely severed a wooden pole, knocking out to the surrounding area.

The truck came to a rest on its left side, and the top of the pole caught on fire.

Both men, the driver and his passenger, fled the scene before police arrived. Their identities and injuries, if any, are not known.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department quickly extinguished the fire.
