The annual Emily’s Parade motorcycle ride and 5K run/walk is set for Sept. 25 in memory of Emily Keyes.

Keyes was a Platte Canyon High School student on Sept. 27, 2006. She and several other girls were held hostage by a lone intruder to the school, who killed himself after shooting and killing Keyes.

After that tragedy, Emily’s parents, John-Michael and Ellen Stoddard-Keyes, established the I Love U Guys Foundation. “I love u guys,” was the last text message Emily sent her family.

The nonprofit commemorates her kindness and promotes the protection of youthful joy through education and positive action.
