DENVER—More than 125 residents of an Aurora apartment building are being kept out of their homes because a fire revealed dangerous asbestos contamination.

Firefighters using ladders had to rescue more than 20 residents from the Fairways at Lowry apartment complex early Saturday.

According to KMGH-TV ( ), asbestos warnings and warning tape were posted Sunday around the building.

Because of the asbestos risk, residents can get a limited number of belongings from workers in protective gear.
