Investigators continue to interview witnesses to a weekend apartment fire that displaced nearly 300 people.
Aurora fire officials have said they believe the Saturday morning fire at the Fairways at Lowry complex, 9931 E. First Ave., was arson.
Most residents have only been able to get into the buildings to retrieve a few items, such as wallets and cellphones, several residents told The Denver Post.
Meanwhile, the apartment management company is having tests done to determine if the buildings are contaminated with asbestos.
Apartment managers are working with residents to relocate them. They had found units in other properties for nearly 70 people as of this afternoon, according to Red Cross spokeswoman Patricia Billinger.
Eleven people stayed Sunday night at a Red Cross shelter, and the Red Cross has provided more than 270 meals for residents, Billinger said.
