Boulder City Council members agreed Tuesday night that affordable housing programs need new sources of funding — but they were cautious about a new tax.

The council reviewed a report from the Affordable Housing Task Force on how to increase affordable housing in Boulder.

Among the recommendations in the report was one of four types of taxes that would help cover costs: a head tax on workers in city limits; a hotel or accommodations tax; a general sales tax; or a property tax.
