Police investigators believe the shooting of a Fort Collins man, by his older brother, was accidental.

The incident happened at about 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 3000 block of Chase Drive, according to a Fort Collins Police Department media release.

Police identified the brothers as 26-year-old Guy Gleason and 21-year-old Scott Gleason.

Scott Gleason is the man who was shot.

“Based on information gathered to this point, investigators believe the shooting is purely accidental,” the release said.

Guy Gleason made a 911 call Tuesday for help, reporting that he “accidentally shot” his brother.

Scott Gleason was taken to the Medical Center of the Rockies with “serious injuries,” police said.

The shooting investigation is ongoing, and both brothers are cooperating, police said.
