A man was taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after a motorcycle he was riding went off the road just outside of Longmont.
The accident occurred a little after 11 a.m. Tuesday, north of the intersection of Fordham Street and the Diagonal Highway, on the Longmont-bound side of the the highway.
Sean West, a driver with Mars Towing who happened upon the accident scene, said the motorcyclist told him someone turning toward Longmont from Fordham came all the way into the far lane, causing the motorcyclist to go off the road.
The motorcycle and the motorcyclist’s leg caught fire, witnesses said. Passers-by helped put out the fire.
