Colorado Springs police have arrested a man accused of gunning down a Thornton man near a Dairy Queen in September.
Roy Saldivar, 41, was arrested at 2:17 p.m. near Nevada Avenue and Boulder Street on suspicion of first-degree murder, according to a news release from the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The driver of the car in which Saldivar was riding, Deirdre Dziuban, 36, was arrested on suspicion of accessory to first-degree murder.
At 8:53 p.m. Sept. 22, officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of Tremont Street after multiple 911 calls about a shooting in the area.
Police accuse Saldivar of killing Oscar “James” Frias, 34, the husband of Saldivar’s former girlfriend. He and his family had stopped for ice cream after a youth hockey game.
