SANTIAGO, Chile — A Chilean appeals court has overturned the suspension of a $7 billion hydroelectric dam project in the Patagonian wilderness that is opposed by environmentalists.
A court in June halted the project to build five dams while it studied claims by environmentalists and legislators that a government commission hadn’t adequately examined technical reviews of the project before approving it.
A statement Thursday from the appeals court says it found nothing illegal or arbitrary in the commission’s original ruling.
