A man wanted as a suspect in a homicide case in Washington state, who is also a suspect in an attempted murder case in Colorado, has been arrested in Colorado Springs after police received a tip on his whereabouts.

Benjamin Colten was taken into custody at about 6:55 p.m. Tuesday in the 3300 block of N. Chesnut Street, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department crime blotter.

Colten was wanted in Colorado on four warrants for attempted murder, as well as felony menacing and illegal marijuana cultivation, police said.

The homicide warrant is out of Spokane, Wash.

After an initial tip on Tuesday, police did not find Colten. But the tipster worked with police through the afternoon and officers used tracking dogs to catch Colten who was taken into custody near the Legends Golf Club Pub.

Colten had about 5 grams of marijuana in his possession when he was arrested.
