An hours-long standoff ended early Friday when Colorado Springs SWAT members arrested Donny Lopez, wanted on suspicion of killing his childhood friend in late September.
The arrest brought an end to a nearly two-week manhunt for three men wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Scott Campbell on Sept. 26 outside his apartment on Bonita Village Road.
Lopez’s younger brother, Robert Pesante, and Antonio Jerel Pegues also were arrested. They were expected to be booked into the El Paso County jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.
