The Colorado State Patrol is asking the public for help in finding a driver and a car involved in a fatal crash on Tuesday.

The vehicle is believed to be a white, newer-model compact sedan. On Tuesday it was seen traveling east on Colorado Highway 92 between Delta and Hotchkiss when it veered into oncoming traffic.

A pickup truck driving west, swerved to avoid a head-on collision before sliding off the road and rolling over.

The pickup’s driver, 67-year-old James Hodges of Paonia, suffered minor injuries. His wife, Alice Hodges, 66, died from her injuries at a local hospital.

The white sedan fled the scene.

No description of the driver is available.

Anyone with information about the white sedan or its driver should contact Trooper Darel Reed at 970-249-4392 or 970-249-9575.
