A 90-year-old man who left his Lakewood home to go chop wood in the high country is missing.
The Lakewood Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding Richard Carlton, who was last seen on Wednesday when he was headed up to St. Mary’s Glacier in Clear Creek County.
“He has not been seen or heard from since that time,” Lakewood police said in a media release.
Police describe Carlton as a white man, 5-feet 9-inches tall and 178 pounds with white hair and brown eyes.
Carlton has scoliosis, which prevents him from standing completely upright, police said.
He was driving a silver 2011 Nissan Xterra, Colorado license plate 543THG.
Police said Carlton is known to stay off main roads and highways to take “lesser known paths.”
Anyone who knows Carlton’s whereabouts, or who believes they’ve spotted him or his truck, is asked to call Lakewood police at 303 987-7111.
