ANKARA, Turkey — A Turkish news agency says suspected smugglers set bees loose on 15 police officers searching for contraband cigarettes hidden among a truckload of hives.
The Anatolia agency had no information on the officers’ conditions. It said the truck was later searched by officers in beekeeping gear who seized some 32,500 packs of smuggled cigarettes. The truck driver and two beekeepers were arrested.
