The State of Colorado has shut down a building that houses dozens of businesses and a call center for nearly 300 doctors over the tax problems of one couple.

Though the individual businesses say they aren’t to blame, they’re the ones losing out.

The owners of Cross Country Fulfillment Center in Fort Collins, Kay and William Kunzman, owe the state more than $50,000, according to documents posted on the doors of the warehouse facility. Cross Country has clients – from those who rely on them to ship goods, to those who rely on them for the call center inside.

The Colorado Dept. of Revenue shut down that facility on Thursday, but many of the clients of Cross Country who spoke with 9News on Monday said they weren’t notified.

“People’s lives are at stake,” Louann DeCoursey, who runs the Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center, said.
