GULFPORT, Miss.—Police say they’ve arrested a second man in the death of a Mississippi Gulf Coast woman who was strangled in her home and dumped in the woods earlier this week.

Kendrick Lebontra Harper of Gulfport is charged as accessory after the fact and was in the Harrison County, Miss., jail Friday under a $200,000 bond.

Investigators accuse Harper of helping remove the body of 56-year-old Pamela Santiago from her Gulfport home and dumping her in a nearby wooded area. A passer-by found the body Tuesday in the woods.

The victim’s son, 29-year-old Ryan Allen Abeyta, was captured Wednesday in Semmes, Ala., near the Mississippi state line. He is charged with murder. On Friday, Abeyta waived extradition and was returned to Mississippi.

Santiago and Abeyta previously lived in Colorado Springs, Colo.
