FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Larimer County District Attorney Larry Abrahamson says no charges will be filed against a woman who killed a Montrose man with a beer bottle in Fort Collins.
Coroner’s officials said that 23-year-old Shaun Cassidy’s death was a homicide, but the district attorney said Thursday the case falls under a Colorado law that allows residents to use deadly force to defend themselves inside their homes
Police say Cassidy was cut during a fight with his female companion, Azura Lakin,on Oct. 2 after they had argued while drinking in Fort Collins and then again when they returned to her Fort Collins apartment.
The district attorney says evidence shows Cassidy was forcing his way back into the apartment after being evicted.
