War and Tower of Power recall a funkier, more laidback era of pop music, when horns, cowbells and genres mingled freely amid the ’70s California music scene. Combining the two nostalgia acts for a national tour is a predictable move, but the results should be suitably dance-worthy when the pair hits the Ogden Theatre on Dec. 16. If you haven’t let your hair down in a while, this is the show. Tickets are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($35-$40, Ticketmaster)

Cirque du Soleil’s “Dralion” sold out many of its Pepsi Center parking lot dates the last time it came to town in 2000, so it’s natural that the Montreal-based nouveau-circus company would stage it in two Colorado locales for its upcoming run. The show, which “soars on the wings of sight, sound and sensation” (as Denver Post theater critic Sandra C. Dillard wrote at the time), features what Cirque describes as a “harmonious” blend of Eastern and Western acrobatic prowess. Tickets for Feb. 2-5 at Loveland’s Budweiser Events Center and Feb. 8-12 at Broomfield’s 1stBank Center are on sale. ($28-$75, )

Imagination Movers is another juggernaut kid’s entertainment brand backed by the Disney corporation, but the New Orleans group lives up to its name with constant touring — it’s already got 80 shows lined up for 2012 — and surprisingly solid live performances. The band will return to the Front Range on March 22 for a set at the Paramount Theatre, with tickets on sale at 10 a.m. today. ($21-$45, TicketHorse)

Foreigner has benefited immeasurably from our embrace of all things cheesy, ’80s and big-haired the last few years, allowing the multiplatinum pop-rock act to do things such as its “Foreigner Acoustique” tour. As implied, the jaunt (named after the band’s latest album) will find Foreigner rocking hits like “Hot Blooded,” “Cold as Ice” and “Feels Like the First Time” sans distorted guitars. Tickets for its Jan. 17 concert at the Paramount Theatre are on sale. ($39.50-$69.50, TicketHorse)
