BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder authorities are investigating after two police impersonators pulled over a driver.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office says Sonny Smith was pulled over on Oct. 15 by a man wearing a silver metal star-shaped badge. The man with the badge was joined a few minutes later by a man in another unmarked vehicle with flashing lights.

According to KMGH-TV ( ), Smith decided to complain because he felt he was being pulled over because he is black.

Authorities say both suspects seemed to have some knowledge of police procedures.

Investigators are trying to determine if the latest case is linked to other cases in Aurora, Jefferson County and Denver over the past three months.
