Kristen Hamilton assisted on Katy Van Lieshout’s goal in the 21st minute and scored in the 59th to pace the third-seeded University of Denver women’s soccer team to a 2-0 win over sixth-seeded South Alabama on Wednesday in the quarterfinals of the Sun Belt Conference championship in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

CSU golfers finish in third place.

The Colorado State men’s golf team could not hold on to its two-stroke lead and fell to third place at the SCVB Pacific Invitational at Brookside Country Club in Stockton, Calif. The Rams’ 2-over-par 286 left them at 7-over 859, four strokes behind the winner Oregon State, which defeated Nevada on the first playoff hole.

CSU punter up for Ray Guy Award.

Colorado State punter Pete Kontodiakos is one of 54 nominees for the Ray Guy Award, given to the nation’s top punter. Kontodiakos, a junior, leads the Mountain West Conference and ranks 21st in the nation with a 44.0-yard gross average.
