A short man with pale skin, dark sunglasses and a gold chain slung to mid-torso around his neck molested a 12-year-old girl on Oct. 25, according to a sketch and a description released today by Colorado Springs police.
The man, who appeared to be in his 20s, grabbed the girl in the 400 East Brookside Street as she walked to the bus stop to go to school at about 8 a.m.
“Although she struggled to free herself, she was overpowered by the suspect and physically and sexually assaulted,” police said in a media release.
The man was seen in the area by other witnesses more than an hour before the assault, police said. No one saw a car, so police assume he was on foot.
He was further described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall with short brown hair and wore a dirty or worn dark brown baseball cap with yellow writing.
He also wore a puffy black jacket with a forest green plaid lining, a gray hoodie underneath his jacket, and baggy blue jeans.
