A two-trailer semi truck hauling hazardous material on I-70 in the mountains burst into flames this morning, shutting down the highway.
The incident happened at about 2 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the highway near Georgetown, a Colorado Department of Transportation spokesman said.
There were no reports of injuries.
All but one westbound lane of the highway reopened about an hour later.
Hazmat crews contained the materials, including corrosive and flamable materials, to the immediate area, said Trooper Heather Cobler, a Colorado State Patrol spokeswoman.
The state patrol is investigating the accident and what caused the fire, which was limited to the cab and the first trailer, Cobler said.
All lanes were re-opened about 11:30 a.m.
