Boulder police arrested a man today suspected of entering several homes a week ago, including one in which the prowler tried to sexually assault a woman in the University Hill neighborhood.

Jason Kenneth Mikula, 35, was arrested just before noon today. Though Mikula was a stranger to the victims, they gave information, including a composite sketch, that helped police to get a warrant for Mikula on Friday, the agency said in a media release this afternoon.

Mikula is being held in the Boulder County Jail on $10,000 bond on three counts of first-degree criminal trespassing, one count of second-degree burglary and one count of attempted sexual assault. All of the charges are felonies.

Residents in all of the homes in a one-block area of of Pennsylvania Avenue and Lincoln Place said a man entered their homes between 5 and 6 a.m. on Oct. 30.

Mikula has a sparse criminal history, records show. He pleaded guilty to criminal mischief in Boulder in 2000 and was sentenced to two years of probation.

He pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol in March after he was pulled over by University of Colorado police, records show. He served 20 days in jail and was sentenced to a year of a suspended sentence and two years of probation.

Records indicate he lives in the Table Mesa area of Boulder, which is not near University Hill.
