Broomfield police and North Metro Fire Rescue District personnel this afternoon are in the 200 block of Flint Way near Emerald Elementary School, where they are providing support in an apparent drug bust.

North Metro Division Chief Kevin Sweeney confirmed firefighters were dispatched around 1:45 p.m. to provide support to members of the North Metro Drug Task Force for a drug bust on Flint Way.

The firefighters, who remain on scene, are members of a decontamination unit trained to handle hazardous materials, Sweeney said.
