ERIE, Pa. — Mercyhurst built a 3-0 lead in the third period and then held off Air Force for a 3-2 win in an Atlantic Hockey Association game Saturday at the Mercyhurst Ice Center.

Tim Kirby scored both goals for Air Force (5-4-2, 4-2-1 AHA).

Air Force is in first place in the league with nine points, while Mercyhurst (5-5, 4-1) is second with eight points.

AFA outshot Mercyhurst in every period and 34-23 in the game. AFA was 2-for-5 on the power play and Mercyhurst was 1-for-3. Stephen Caple made 20 saves for the Falcons. Max Strang made 32 for the Lakers.
