All charges have been dropped against a 21-year-old Denver woman once accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at Denver police cruiser during an anti-police march on May 6.

Amelia Nicol was initially accused of attempting to murder two officers, but in June a Denver judge dropped that charge, as well as charges of second-degree arson, criminal mischief and inciting a riot.

Nicol still faced a felony charge of possessing an explosive device, as well as misdemeanor counts of attempted assault and resisting arrest, but those charges were dismissed by the Denver District Attorney’s Office on Sept. 15, court records show.

In an interview with the Westword newspaper, Nicol said someone threw a firework at the police car and she was running away.

Police and prosecutors said Nicol threw the explosive at the marked police cruiser and ran away. The device exploded and burned.

Police said that when they arrested Nicol a short time later, she spit on officers and resisted arrest, according to prosecutors.
