Denver officials will unveil public improvements to 14th Street in downtown Denver at an event to be held at 2 p.m. at 14th and Curtis Streets.
The improvements include expanded sidewalks with sandblasted accents, a dedicated bicycle lane, enhanced pedestrian lighting, bike racks, benches and landscaping.
The $14 million project was funded in part by the voter-approved 2007 Better Denver Bond program, which earmarked $10 million for the project. Property owners along 14th Street contributed the remaining $4 million through the creation of the 14th Street General Improvement District.
