Fountain police arrested a man for driving under the influence of drugs after he drove through the a yard and hit a parked vehicle on Thursday.
At 7:30 a.m., officers were called to the area of Red Fern Lane and Willow Dale Drive on a report of a single vehicle accident, according to a news release from the Fountain Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found Robert Thayer, 22 of Colorado Springs, disoriented in the front seat of the wrecked vehicle.
Officers found a large rock in Thayer’s chest pocket. Further investigation revealed that the rock was actually 2.5 grams of cocaine worth about $250.
Thayer was taken to Memorial Hospital where he was treated and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and unlawful possession of an illegal substance.
